The moderate hiking tour to the mountain “Scheiblingstein” 2.197m, with the starting point at the car park at a high of 753m in Mühlau (Hall bei Admont), is 15,3 km long and has a total of 1454 altimeters. Scenically beautiful is the hiking tour in the fall, with the fog in the valley. Since there is no hut on this tour please take enough food. In the Google Map I have marked the other two variants starting at the managed hut - Ardningalm (red line) and from Upper Austria at the also managed huts - Bosruckhütte and Rohrauerhaus (green line).

The first 2.3 km, we go on a forest road in the direction passage “Pyhrgasgatterl” - hiking trail no.601. Across a field at the point Gstattmaier we reach the forest. After 3.8 km and at an altitude of 1.230m, we leave the hiking trail no.601 and turn right onto the hiking trail no.629. After a few meters end the flat forest road and at kilometer 4.3, we hike along the very good marked hiking trail, past the unmanaged hut “Pyhrgashütte” (1.357m). After 5.5 kilometers we reach the tree line and at kilometer 6 begin the section “Lange Gasse”. By getting more and more light-end pine fields we walk about 1.8 kilometers up to the ridge in a wonderful scenic area. There, we meet the walkers who hiked up over the hut “Laglalm” from Rosenau am Hengstpaß. To the summit on Scheiblingstein then there are now only about 10 to 15 minutes on the Northwest Ridge. The last 1.5 km is the steepest section with an average gradient of about 32%, but not to go too hard.

The summit area offers a lot of hikers plenty place for a long break, so we can enjoy the spectacular view for a long time. In addition to the nearby mountains Großer Pyhrgas, Bosruck and Kleiner Pyhrgas you see on sunny days to the glacier Dachstein, the Grimming and many peaks of the mountains Totes Gebirge and Schladminger Tauern. On the same way we go back to the valley. A little tired but very happy for the great experience we reach again after about 7 hours the starting point in Hall bei Admont.
