The mountain tour Nazogl begins at the parking lot on the Hintereggeralm. This is, as described in the MTB Tour Hintereggeralm easily accessible. The narrow paved road offers enough passing places. The hike from of the Hintereggeralm to the Nazogl is much simpler than suggested by the view up from the valley. For me, one of the best tours in Ennstal, because of wonderful views during the hiking tour.
The large parking lot in front of Hintereggeralm is on 1.220m. Along the dirt road you go first 700m up to the huts of the Hintereggeralm. Here begin the hike route No.217 to Nazogl. First on a meadow and a pasture path is the hiking trail after a small forest from km 1.3 to 2.0 steep (average gradient 18%). After 2.4 km the next 1.3 km to the summit of Nazogl 2.057m are really steep with an average more than 30%. You must overcome some rocks. Although still no climbing skills are required. The characteristic rock walls with wide grass strips are particularly interesting. On a high of 1.900, one could also make a one-hour detour to Kosennspitz - 1.920m. Since the northern part of the Nazogl is very flat, there is no traffic jam at the top and everyone can look for a place for the break.
To the Angerkogel 2.114m there are only 1.2 km from Nazogl. The trail leads first to the east by the summit of Angerkogel. However, since the terrain is very easy, you can venture the 150m without marked trail to the summit of the Angerkogel. The summit cross on Anger Kogel is a bit small and temporary. But there is a very good view to the northern mountains such as Hochmölbing and Warschenek. Back on the trail then you go down to the ruins, barely recognizable Angereralm. At the intersection after 5.9 km, we leave the hiking path Nr. 217 would continue to Elmscharte, Wetterlucke and Luckerhütte to the west. Instead, we go back east on route 287 in about 2 hours over the Alpl back to the Hintereggeralm. At the border with Upper Austria until Geißfeld you would think that you are in another world. In contrast to the terrain on the Hintereggeralm the karst landscape is from a totally different side. Since the trail is very rocky, high hiking boots, which also give the ankle a good stability are highly recommended. Except for a small slope at kilometer 7, there are no more major climbs. After the descent from Geißfeld we reach the part „Himmel“of the Hintereggeralm. From there it goes flat, 500 m to the pastures. On the managed Kinkhütte or Schlagerbauerhütte, we strengthen ourselves with regional delicacies before we drive home.
