The starting point for the 6km long hike to the little mountain “Hinterer Fager 1.967m” is located by the mountain inn “Alpengasthof Trinkeralm” on 1.750m. The small alpine village, the inn and the self-catering chalets are situated on a very nice, little plateau south of Forstau. The journey to Trinkeralm is like the MTB tour of Radstadt and Forstau on a nice gravel road. Even from the parking lot you have a wonderful view of the mountains “ Dachstein, Bischofsmütze, Gosaukamm and the Enns valley. There, where in winter thousands of skiers carving on the beautiful slopes we walk comfortably the first part of the approximately 1 hour long, easy hike tour to the “Hinterer Fager”.

The first 1.1 km, we walk on the trail “Mitterfager Rundweg” and then uphill in a southerly direction approximately another 60 altimeters. The next 1.2 km on the broad ridge has no significant gradient. In the last 200m you walk the last 50 altimeters up to the summit. The rocky summit area does not offer much room for a break and so we hike first back on the same trail to km 4.4. The square before the descent has enough space and a magnificent view. At km 4.8 you return to the Mitterfager trail. Slightly downhill and uphill, we reached after 6 kilometers the Trinkeralm again. Before we return home we enjoy  the relaxed atmosphere on the Trinkeralm and eat some delicious Pongauer delicacies.
