The sometimes difficult mountaintour to the Bosruck 2.002m is on the first 4.2 km the same as the moderate hike from the Pyhrnpass to the pasture Fuchsalm the mountain Lahnerkogel 1.854m. The first starting point is located directly on the Pyhrnpass. There, you walk on the trail Nr.611 to the south-east from the parking lot to Fuchsalm. The second starting point is about 1km in the direction of Styria and then you walk on a forestry road through the Pyhrnbachgraben to Fuchsalm.

Directly above the Fuchsalm you turn left from the forest road to the trail Nr.610 into the woods. The next 2,2 km you walk through the forest up to the timberline at about 1,600m. The average gradient here is 22%. It could be that you’ll be a bit wet on your feet through the tall grass when it has been raining. Even with some good vantage points you walk up a steep meadow past the avalanche buildings to the Lahnerkogel. From the avalanche buildings up to the summit the trail more and more stony and rocky. The average slope for the last kilometer is around 31%. Between Lahnerkogel and Bosruck you’ll have in fine weather a lot of wonderful mountain views, such as Wurzeralm, Warschenek, Spital am Pyhrn, Windischgarsten, Limestone Alps National Park, Großer Priel, Bosruck, Kitzstein, Haller Mauern, Gesäuse, Rottenmanner Tauern, Schladminger Tauern, Ennstal, Hochtausing, Totes Gebirge, Grimming and Dachstein.

From Lahnerkogel to the second summit Kitzsteinhorn 1.925m on this mountain tour there are only 700m. The trail is like in the high profile with 9% not so steep. As the trail is on the ridge, or just a few meters away the mountain tour is from the Lahnerkogel technically much more difficult. Some short, easy climbs and rope assured sections are included on the way to the Kitzstein and Bosruck. Because of these difficulties and not because of the steepness of the section between Lahnerkogel and Bosruck this section is classified as a difficult mountain tour. In addition to the walk on the ridge and the good views this tour is very impressive. Fascinating what a fine line runs along the border between Styria and Upper Austria. Nevertheless, all three summits offer some hikers at the same time enough space for a undisturbed rest.

After Kitzstein we walk further along the ridge down 75 altimeters and then the next 500m up about 150 altimeters to the summit of Bosruck to 2.002m. Besides the great view, you can discover two rock faces. One of them is friendly and the other looks grim in the sky.

Following the very nice summit rest, we walk the same trail back down to Fuchsalm. After the rest at the Fuchsalm you’ll walk only about 20 minutes to one of the two starting points.
