The 14 km-long half-day hike in the nature reserve of Hallstatt-Dachstein has only 314 vertical meters. From the lake – Vorderer Gosausee, past the little lake Gosaulacke to the third lake - Hinterer Gosausee you can experience the water in its various ways. Although the entire route follows a gravel road hiking shoes are recommended.

The starting point is as the walk around the lake – Vorderer Gosausee 300m before the inn Gosausee. From the parking lot we go about 30 vertical meters up to the lake – Vorderer Gosausee. Since there we have the first wonderful view of the Dachstein glacier and the reflection in the lake. Then you’ll walk on the hiking trail Nr.614 2 km far along without any slopes past the lake. The views of the mountains - Gosaukamm in the south are also unforgettable. On the southern shore you’ll hike continue straight. After the first short climb at km 2.9 you reach the hunting Lodge and 500m later the lake - Gosaulacke. This is even after snow and rainfall increases and decreases. Then we walk along the dirt road average 18% uphill. Before we walk through the small plain - Almboden we have a very beautiful view back to the lake – Vorderer Gosausee. After 5.6 km and at an altitude of 1.165m, we are at the lake - Hinterer Gosausee. Until the idyllic hut - Hohe Holzmeisteralm you’ll walk along the southern shore only 1.2 km. The Holzmeisteralm is opened from June to early October. On the terrace of the hut under the mountain - Dachstein with the wonderful view to the lake the regional specialties taste very well. In the same way we walk back to the lake – Vorderer Gosausee. The hiking trail along the southwestern shore is 2.5 kilometers long and after 13.7 km, we are back at the inn Gosausee.
