The easy mountain tour to the Lahnerkogel 1.854m begins on the first 1.5 km as the same as the easy hike to the managed pasture Fuchsalm. The starting points are the parking on the Pyhrnpass 965m or 1km towards Styria through the Pyhrnbachgraben 950m.

Directly above the Fuchsalm we turn from the forest road left on a hiking trail Nr.610 into the wood. The next 2.2 km the trail lead us through the forest up to the timberline at about 1.600m. The average gradient is 22%. It could be there a bit wet by the grass when it has been raining. Then follows with some good vantage points a steep hike up the meadow to the avalanche protection buildings at the Lahnerkogel. Despite the avalanche protection buildings is a skitour on the Lahnerkogel not always safe. Up to the summit, the trail is more bumpy and rocky. The average slope for the last kilometer is 31%. On the moderatet hiking tour you need at the top a little slip resistance. You must not be afraid of heights, because there are no exposed areas as in the other on the mountain tour to the Bosruck and Kitzstein.

On top of Lahnerkogel at 1.854m we have a wonderful panoramic view of the Wurzeralm Warschenek, Spital am Pyhrn, Limestone Alps National Park, Großer Priel, Bosruck, Kitzstein, Rottenmanner Tauern, Schladminger Tauern, Ennstal, Hochtausing, Totes Gebirge, Grimming and Dachstein. After the summit rest, we walk the same trail down to Fuchsalm. After the break at the Fuchsalm there are only about 20 minutes to one of the two starting points.
