The mountain Wurzerkampl 1.706m is one of the lower peaks in the nature reserve Warscheneck. The Wurzeralm is a 275-acre plateau in the southwestern part of the community Spital am Pyhrn - Upper Austria. Alternatively to my tour you can go up with the funicular to the Wurzeralm 1.430m and hike then to the Wurzerkampl in about one hour.

First we hike from the large parking area at the base station 808m on the slope and then on the dirt road - Hochkamplstraße along the slope in the direction Wurzeralm. After 800m we reach the confluence of the slopes and turn left. We follow the slope up to the Hintersteinermoos at 1.150m. Then we hike along the gravel road up to the hut - Untere Gameringalm 1350m - 1400m. The hut - Obere Gameringalm 1.440m we reach after 5 km and turn right up 20m in front of the hut. The following 600m towards the saddle - Gameringsattel with an average of 24% are somewhat more demanding. Right from the top station of the chairlift begins a steep climb through the forest and soon the crest is reached, which leads us to the summit of the mountain - Wurzerkampl. The last 200m along the ridge are some stage, but not particularly exposed. After 6 km or about 2.5 to 3 hours, we enjoy the magnificent views of the Warscheneck and many other mountains in the area.

The descent to the saddle - Gameringsattel we hike on the same trail. From here we descend 500m far beyond the slopes to the north until we reach on a high of 1.470m a dirt road and follow it to the top station of the cable car - Wurzeralmbahn. After a relaxing break on the terrace of the mountain restaurant we go mostly on the dirt road along the ski slope back down to the car park. As mentioned at the beginning you could descent down to the valley also with the funicular railway.
