| The front lake Gosau is beside the other lakes Gosaulacke and the rear lake Gosau one of the three lakes in in Gosau. It lies at an altitude of 931m. With a length of 1.8 km, a width of max. 500 m, depth max. 82m and an area of 0.52 square kilometers is the Front lake Gosau one of the smaller lakes in the Salzkammergut. You reach Gosau from Salzburg on the pass Gschütt or from Upper Austria from Hallstatt by Gosauzwang. From Gosau - 780m - then a wide road leads through the Gosau Mittertal to the beginning of the Middle Gosausee, where there is winter, the base station of the cable car to Gablonzer hut. The cable car is part of the ski area Dachstein - West. Because of its low temperatures of the lake front Gosausee is swimming not so popular for divers appreciate the very clear water. The hike around the lake "Vorderer Gosausee" is 4.3 kilometers long and as the entire height difference is only 25 meters is the hike for the whole family suitable. The beautiful trail is suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. From the Inn Gosausee the walk starts on the left, sunnier side of the lake Front Gosausee. At first a few meters long there are always some mountain bikers they come from, or bike to the Roßalm. But the road is wide enough and so mountain bikers and hikers will pass each other wonderfully. After about one kilometer, at the foot of the mountain Lärchkogel was on a length of about 200m a wide path from the blown up vertically in the Middle Gosausee cliffs. At the foot of Gosaukamm one then goes back to the starting point at the cosy inn Gosausee back. On the way back there on Gosausee some places where the shore is very flat and invites people to stay. The hiking tour should take about 1 to 1.5 hours, and don't forget because of the unique Dachstein - Panoramas your camera, or digital camera. By the Inn Gosausee is a webcam with a magnificent view over the lake Gosausee to the Dachstein glacier. |
