The first day begins in St. Gallen (515m) with a short climb through the district Bergerviertel. After the first three kilometers on the single-lane, paved road - Pfarreralm we switch on the gravel road - Schoberweg and reach after 4.1 km the first pass - Ennsbaum on a high of 760m. After an easy downhill to the small village – Unterlaussa in the state Upper Austria we drive until km 12,5 on the road - Hengstpaßstraße L550 mostly downhill. Then we bike about 60 vertical meters uphill to the little plateau - Platzl and further to Weißenbach an der Enns. Near the railway station is with 413m the lowest point of the first stage.

Along the river - Enns we drive first through the district - Wolfsbachau first slightly uphill and at km 21 km through the valley - Wolfsbachtal 4.5 km wide uphill with an average gradient of 8.5% up to the pasture - Pflegeralm. After the downhill we drive on the road L705 a few meters uphill to the pass - Erbsattel. Past the castle - Kassegg we roll gently down to Großreifling. Where you’ll drive after the bridge over the Enns and after the confluence of Enns and Salza along 1.5 kilometers to the east. The next driveway on a gravel road starts at km 37. Now we follow the Austria Alps tour up through the valley Tiefenbachgraben to the pasture - Sulzbachalm and the little pass - Gamssteinhals. Then we bike again short uphill to the cabin - Naturfreundehütte and through the pasture - Moaralm down to Palfau. Despite adequate signage I recommend you to use a GPS device for better orientation.
