The Filzmoos Neuberg round is a not too difficult and scenic worth seeing mountain bike tour. South of the mountains - Gosaukamm and Bischofsmütze are some of the most beautiful alpine areas of Austria. Very interesting are also the various rest stops on this tour. The quaint huts Hofalmen are very well attended, as tourists are transported with buses and horse-drawn carriages up to the pasture. In contrast, the Kirchgasshütte is mostly visited by hikers and cyclists. The inn Almgasthof Gsenghof has also a quaint design and a wood stove.

We park your car opposite the gas station in Filzmoos and then we bike first at the roundabout north towards Hofalmen. Past the tollbooth, we hike along the paved road with an average gradient of 3.5% to 5.5% constantly uphill. At km 4.8 we leave the paved road and go straight on a gravel road about one kilometer further to the hut - Unterhofalm 1.289m. The next hut – Oberhofalm 1.270m you will reach directly via a 100m long hiking trail or on the 1 km long dirt road past the lake Almsee 1.312m. Then we drive back towards Filzmoos and cross the stream - Warme Mandling. After an increase of about 70 vertical meters we are on the Marcheggsattel 1.222m and keep to the right in the direction Aualm Kirchgasshütte. Located at the base of the mountain –Bischofsmütze is the hut - Kirchgashütte 1.367m is especially popular for its cheese snack and the wonderful donuts. After the excellent snack we bike down to the Marcheggsattel and to the right in the direction of Neuberg. At Km 20 we turn right and make a 2 km detour slightly uphill to the inn - Almgasthof Gsenghof 1.133m. Back in Neuberg we drive down to the road L219, on this 50m towards Filzmoos, then we turn right and 300m long uphill with an average gradient of 14% to the district – Reitsteg. After a nice gravel and meadow trail we bike at km 27,3 the last part of this beautiful mountain bike tour on a bike path back to Filzmoos.
