The Wald am Schoberpass bike tour is a great training run, or one of the first and last bike tours in Styria, in the spring or autumn, when it is already too cold in the mountains, with no special thermal cycling clothing is passable. There are only 2 long climbs with 4% on the bike tour in Rottenmann and a few kilometer against Wald am Schoberpass.

After starting in the district capital Liezen in the Enns valley you drive along the B113 road at the foot of Mitterberg towards Selzthal.
After the Enns bridge is a small incline and then it goes over Selzthal to Rottenmann more flat again. Here you drive past the castle Strechau. The slightly longer pitch in Rottenmann has only 4 percent and it reached a height of about 700m. The next town, which lies along the Wald am Schoberpass bike tour is Trieben. The Schoberpass street has between Rottenmann and Trieben a few small, easy climbs and descents with approximately 10 to 20m height difference. Of Trieben you could also take a MTB-Tour to Kaiserau / Admont and take a bike ride on the Triebener Tauernpass up to Hohentauern. After having driven past the lake in Gaishorn you reach Treglwang 6 kilometers before the second long climb starts. After 38 kilometers through Paltental in Styria is then reached the finish on the Wald am Schoberpass tour. Although this bike tour goes on the B113 Schoberpass road the traffic keeps within limits, since the most cars and trucks drive on the parallel Pyhrn highway A9.
On the road you return to Liezen.

The Ennsvalley is in the middle of Austria and was named after the largest river in the valley. The Enns is a 254 kilometers long tributary of the Danube. It rises in the province of Salzburg in the Radstätter Tauern. From Salzburg the Enns flows eastwards through Styria. Between Admont and Hieflau in Upper Styria, the Enns breaks through a Narrow valley - the Gesäuse in the Ennstal Alps before it flows north to Upper Austria. In the last section is the Enns, the boundary between Upper and Lower Austria. Between the villages of Mauthausen and Enns empties the Enns, as 100m wide river, into the Danube.

The Ennsvalley is one of the major valleys in Austria, and forms the geological boundary between the Northern Limestone Alps and the Central Alps south of the river Enns. The mountains of the northern Limestone Alps are often very steep and less forested than the south of the Central gentler mountains are more accessible for hikers. Where the mountains from east to west are becoming increasingly burdensome. The upper Ennsvalley at the border between the Austrian provinces of Salzburg and Styria, the Enns river flows south past the Dachstein glacier. The Dachstein 2.995m is the highest mountain in Styria. The people in the Ennsvalley live mainly from tourism and agriculture.
