We start the bike tour "Southern Wine Road" in the market town Ehrenhausen the "gateway" to the South Styrian wine country. Ehrenhausen is one of the most beautiful towns in southern Styria and known for the well-kept historic townscape, it’s historically and culturally interesting Eggenberger's Mausoleum and the wine taverns. This variant of the wine road bike tours is 31 km long and have due to the hilly nature more than 600 vertical meters. The medium difficult climbs are easy to create for any little bit trained cyclist.

Immediately after the Mur Bridge we turn right and take the first 5 kilometers on the Mur bike way to Spielfeld. Once there, we leave the Mur bike way, cross the River Mur and at the federal highway B67 – “Grazer Bundesstraße” we drive through Spielfeld to kilometer 7. 400m before the border with Slovenia you must then turn right to the road - Obeggraben Schunter-way. This ends in Zieregg after 10 kilometers. The average gradient is 7%. On the country road L613 Graßnitzberg we drive along the border continues to Slovenia.

On the next 4 km to Ratsch an der Weinstraße, we see the border with Slovenia, quite intense, as we see many marks and landmarks of the border with Slovenia in the middle of the road. Until Sernau at KM23, there are many vantage points as we go along by many small climbs and descents on the hills of the South Styrian wine country. Shortly before Gamlitz end the Sernauer road and on the road – “Südsteirische Grenzstraße” we drive the last kilometers through Gamlitz back to Ehrenhausen.
