 The lake Fuschlsee is the westernmost lake in the Salzkammergut region and is situated about 5 kilometers west of the lakes Wolfgangsee and Mondsee and 25 km east of the city Salzburg. The 3 square km big lake is on the federal road B 158 from Salzburg very good accessible. The only village on the lake is Fuschl am See. The 66m deep lake reaches a maximum. Temperature of about 24 degrees. Like the other lakes in the Salzkammergut Lake Fuschl emerged at the end of the last ice age. The waters of Lake Fuschl has drinking water quality and water transparency is up to about 6m. Lakeside only electric boats, pedal boats, sailing boats, pedal boats and rowing boats are allowed. Landmarks Fuschlsee - Austria: Castle Fuschl - former hunting lodge is now run as a 5 star hotel. The Castle Fuschl in the 50s was also a filming location of the Empress Sissi - movies.
