 The lake Zeller See is in the austrian state Salzburg.  He is just under 4 km long and 850 to 1400 meters wide. The surface of the lake is 4.7 square kilometers and the maximum depth of 68m. On the western bank of the Zeller See is the district capital Zell am See with just under 10.000 inhabitants. The town of Zell am See consists of the villages: Bruckberg, Erlberg, Schmitten, Thumersbach and the health resort of Zell am See. 
 Zell am See is together with the community Kaprun a popular holiday destination and one of the most important winter sports resorts in Austria with over 14,000 beds and two million overnight stays. Around Zell am See are in the winter, the ski resorts Kitzsteinhorn, Kaprun and Schmittenhöhe.

The asphalt road of the airport Zell am See is 660m long and with a 300m-long landing strip for gliders. In the Alpine flight school Zell am See you can learn to fly an airplane or a glider. Also flights from 20min to an hour around Zell am See to the Grossglockner in the National Park Hohe Tauern and trial flights with a glider pilot will be offered.

The sights in Zell am See are the parish church, the city museum with the Kastnerturm and the Ferry Porsche Congress Center who was built in 2007.
