Schladming is the tourist center of the Dachstein Tauern Region and has approximately 4.600 inhabitants. Right in the district of Schladming is the base station of the Planai cable railway and the après ski inn Hohenhaus Tenne. The 32km ski slopes are located at an altitude of 745m to 1902m. Of this, 30km are easy to moderate slopes and are 2km difficult ski slopes.

The Devil parade in Schladming is among the best and largest parades in Austria. Each year, hundreds of devil, witches, angels and santa and their companions take part in Schladming in the very worth seeing event.
